I enjoy calling my daughter a PBS kid. It says a lot about the information I am providing her and the influences that she is being exposed to. The shows and lack of adult and toy driven commericial time, allows me and my daughter the freedom for her to have her own T.V. time. As she has gotten older, it has turned into more than just a fun escape from reality, she is also learning along with it.
To add to the learning process PBS offers the children an internet source for each of the shows that my daughter watches. By going to www.pbskids.org you and your child can interact with some of your favorite PBS Kids characters using games and learning tools.
In my classroom observations I have noticed that this is also something that is used in the elementary classrooms. This is smart interaction, as this is good sound information being delivered to the child. Good for home, daycare and public schools a like.
